Details of my experience, skills and education - an expanded version of the summary on the home page.

01 /About

Professional profile

I studied computational linguistics and then data analysis and processing at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. I worked as a data analyst in an AML/CTF-regulated environment, and then on IT/OT system implementations, SCADA in particular.

Since April 2026 I have been working as a SOC Analyst L1. Besides analyzing and triaging alerts, I configure the SIEM, build detection rules and dashboards, and try to make work easier for myself and the team through Python automation. The solutions I built (Mini-SOAR, automated reports, the analyzer and alert enrichment) are easy to use and available to the whole team.

SOC, IT/OT and data analysis

SOC Analyst L1

04.2026 – present

Komputronik Biznes

  • triaging and analyzing SIEM and EDR alerts - including Windows/AD, Cloudflare WAF, VPN, Office 365 and network traffic;
  • building Python tools that support the whole SOC team: my own Mini-SOAR engine, alert enrichment and report generation;
  • making threat hunting easier with the Mini-SOAR and user account analyzer modules, which help find threats and analyze correlated account activity;
  • complex DQL / Query DSL / Lucene queries combining multiple conditions and data sources;
  • adding log sources to the SIEM on my own;
  • SIEM configuration and development: adding and editing indices, scripted fields, alert rules and, above all, building complex dashboards;
  • co-creating a ticketing system in Alloy that makes work for multiple clients easier and more organized, focusing on its logic and workflow;
  • in-depth analysis of Windows/AD and Linux events; comfortable working in Linux (terminal, cron, systemd);
  • mapping events to MITRE ATT&CK to keep improving detections and alert rules;
  • incident handling: analysis, EDR actions (including host isolation), escalation and reporting;
  • working with EDR: CrowdStrike and ESET Protect & Inspect.

IT/OT Systems Implementation Specialist

05.2025 – 03.2026

Mikronika

  • handling incidents with SCADA systems - verifying them on my own, analyzing root causes and escalating with a recommendation based on the data collected;
  • monitoring systems in Grafana and PRTG, with alert configuration and analysis of application and system logs;
  • building an Excel/VBA tool, supported by Python, that tracked nearly 1,000 helpdesk tickets - ticket statuses, SLA and KPIs;
  • working with SQL/NoSQL databases, working in Linux.

Junior Data Analyst

07.2024 – 04.2025

Santander

  • analyzing operational and user data in an AML/CTF-regulated environment;
  • detecting anomalies in data and assessing its quality;
  • reporting results in Excel and working with other teams.

03 /Skills - details

What I do, and with what

SIEM & detection engineering

Day to day I work in a SIEM based on the Elasticsearch/OpenSearch ecosystem.

What I do on my own

  • adding log sources
  • index configuration
  • scripted fields
  • detection and alert rules
  • fully interactive dashboards that correlate logs from many sources, as well as detailed ones for simpler analyses
  • queries that combine conditions and data from multiple sources

What I co-created

  • the ticketing system for SIEM alerts in Alloy - alert workflow, scaling to multiple clients, and the logic of fields and MITRE mappings
Query languages
DQL · Query DSL · Lucene
Splunk
basics (self-study)

EDR: CrowdStrike, ESET Protect & Inspect

  • alert analysis
  • process and process tree analysis
  • telemetry analysis
  • event correlation
  • threat hunting
  • incident response
  • host isolation
  • creating and modifying rules and exclusions

Automation & enrichment

I make the repetitive steps of alert handling easier with Python automation - enriching alerts with additional context, recommendations and possible attack paths.

  • VirusTotal enrichment for Cloudflare alerts

    A script run from cron adds public information from VirusTotal about the specific IP address to new Cloudflare alerts.

  • Automated shift report

    Counting and grouping alerts by rule and inserting them into a Word template.

  • Mini-SOAR

    Alert enrichment, automated threat hunting, VPN session correlation and the user account analyzer - described in more detail in the individual case studies.

Windows/AD, Linux & log analysis

Windows / Active Directory

  • analyzing common Windows and Active Directory events
  • events handled in Mini-SOAR: account lockouts, NTLM authentication, privileged account logons, group and account changes, service installations and log clearing - all mapped to MITRE ATT&CK and calibrated to the environment
  • translating AD GUIDs into plain language, e.g. the directory replication rights used in the well-known DCSync attack

Linux

  • comfortable working in the system and the terminal
  • Linux log analysis
  • task automation, access permissions, cron schedules, my own services

Log analysis

  • system and application logs, including in IT/OT environments
  • mapping activity to MITRE ATT&CK
  • Sigma rules (pySigma) in Mini-SOAR

04 /Projects & education

Data, machine learning and linguistics

  • MSc in Data Analysis and Processing

    2022–2024

    Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań

    Master’s thesis: “Applying artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to gesture annotation” - a continuation of my bachelor’s thesis and an attempt to build my own gesture annotation system based on my own neural networks: a video processing pipeline, data cleaning, annotation and validation, training a YOLOv8 model for hand localization, RNN/LSTM networks for processing context, and result validation.

  • BA in Computational Linguistics

    2019–2022

    Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań

    Bachelor’s thesis: a comparison of automatic and manual gesture annotation, a review of the solutions available at the time, and conclusions from the analysis.

  • Plankton Detector

    Agile / Scrum

    Team project, 4 people

    An application that identifies plankton species in microscope images - detection with a YOLOv8 model and a Django backend with detection history and result visualization. I trained the model myself (without preparing the training data), built the application’s backend and frontend, and integrated everything.
